Oops - a little behind this week, although our strips published as scheduled.
I had a day-long talk at Le Jardin Academy in Kailua, which is the first of many talks I will be doing this summer with KS. Although, this talk was solo - including my drive there, in which I had to battle morning traffic and the long, slippery ride on the Pali Highway.
I feel a little more confident with my driving skills, although changing lanes still gives me incredible amounts of unspeakable stress. >_>;
Icons will be coming a little later on Friday as I'm trying to get as many strips done as I humanly can before Fanime. Once we return, things are going to get SUPER busy for us, so it's in my best interest to get as far ahead as I can. ^_^;
Wednesday's Comic: A Different Point of View

Sorry for the late post - for those who keep up with nemu*nemu via my LJ... I had a dentist appointment for my crown this morning and had some tasks to do before leaving.
Long story short: Kids, no pain is no pain. If you feel the pain at the dentist, say so.. because what felt to me like cleaning around the gumline - painful to a certain degree, but not excruciating... became a throbbing, painful, burning raw mess by the time I got home. That much pain does not equal normal by any standards... and it did *not* go away as I had hoped.
It was so horrible, KS had to call the dentist who immediately told me to return for shots. It was enough for me to go home, eat lunch of sushi, drink some liquids and sleep until 5pm.
The raw burning is slowly creeping back, but I have my pain-killers on hand to help me get to sleep for the next few nights.
*cry*
I don't know why the shots don't work for me as well as they used to... in fact, I find I need double/triple the usual amount to get through my dental procedures. Doesn't help that I've had so many procedures done in the past year, I've run out of insurance.
*sigh*
So, sorry for the delay in strip posting - I hope this encourages you to check nemu*nemu if you don't see an update here!

Thanks for those who have responded to my character poll here on LJ. I have one running simultaneously on nemu*nemu as well as dA. So far, it looks like Nemu is our front-runner by a mile.
Our site poll will run until the weekend, so get your votes in - it'll play a factor in upcoming strips, projects and merchandise.
Thankfully, volume 2 is 85% done. I have a few miscellaneous sketches to fill in and a couple pages to layout. We just applied for the ISBN last night and if all works out well, we should be set by mid-week. Yey!

As KS says, sometimes the right thing to do is the hardest choice - but very worthwhile in the long-run.
Case and point - I really didn't want to wake up this morning... but I have a lot of work due, so instead of wasting my life in bed, it's better to get up and get stuff off my to-do list.
However, fighting the morning head rush = not fun. Bleah.
Had a nice extended weekend - Police concert, got the covers for Volume 2 done, participated in a talkcast with the Art & Story guys, and even was treated to a single double-dipped chocolate cherry.
Thank GOD my head cold is mostly gone too~ I have the occasional runny nose and slight lingering cough, but much much more manageable!

Man. What a week. Lots of crazy moments that I thought I was going to break things, but today seems a little better than the past couple.
*sigh*
Been doing lots of drawing on the Cintiq - although it gets pretty HOT if I work on it too long. (I half wonder if I get sunburn from the screen - maybe that flushed look?) I find if I work at anything less than 50%, my lines are pretty squiggly and I end up cleaning things up at 100% most of the time. It's nice to be able to correct my drawings instantaneously and not have paper grain all over from the scans.
Speaking of scanners - I have this giant pro format scanner that doesn't seem to work with our Macs. KS has to turn on Parallels/Boot Camp to get it to work, but that's just way too much hassle. If they don't come out with Mac-compatible driver soon (that works!), we might have to consider selling it. *sigh*
And speaking of selling - I can't quite say I'm "panicking" yet, but I'm quite worried about how I'm going to afford my dental implant. My appointment yesterday with the oral surgeon (who extracted my cracked molar 3 months ago) was basically a consultation that cost me $177 out of pocket. No insurance coverage for that. They gave me the estimate for the procedure and I was floored. I'm worried because I somehow have to raise the funds for the surgery... which I hope to schedule sometime in June, AFTER all the major conventions. I'm hoping that our dual coverage kicks in... otherwise I'm seriously screwed.
Living without said tooth is not an option. The last thing I need is for the rest of my teeth to shift and get braces again. (or worse- further surgery...)
Damn teeth.
Possibly more stuff up for sale in the near future. T_T;

Still going strong - not quite done with all my book-prep work, but I'm slowly finishing tasks. I'm just hoping my dental surgery on Thursday doesn't completely put me out of commission. T_T;;

In fact, I'm hungry too.. time to scour the fridge for leftovers!
OMP. I am so crazy busy and behind schedule. This teaches me never to count for weekends as part of my work week. Things like grocery shopping, running errands, eating, etc take up WAY too much time. Dammit - I'm gonna have to start driving and SOON. *~__~*
So~ in light of my crazy busy schedule of the day, just the updates!
First off, we, nemu*nemu, are featured as the cover artists for the latest issue of Sugary Serials
It'll be up only for today on the main page for a short while as the stories will begin rotation very soon! (Which also means, Who is the Crimson Scarab? Part II will start soon!)
If you love pizza like Anpan, today's comic is just for you.

Thank GOD I have leftover food for lunch! Anything to save time! TwT!
So the latest H!P news is that V-U-den is disbanding. I can't say I'm a BIG fan of their music or style, but they have been very entertaining these past years. (The dancing in "Jajauma Paradise" dance shot PV still cracks me up every time I see it!)
Weather here locally has been super windy with unusually heavy rainfall. Rain isn't uncommon at this time of year and I do enjoy the cooler weather, but the downside is that the winds help push the rain into our kitchen. I didn't close the windows in time and our drying dishes are all covered with dirt. *sigh* I'm still waiting for a good opportunity to wash my clothes as well since I tend to line-dry rather than throw them into the dryer.
Almost the end of the month! I still have 2 covers to work on, aside from a 10-12 page short shorty and interior book art. Good news - most of the strips have been colored, which leaves me with the last 8 or so. I might have a few late nights over the next week.
And lastly! Our friends gave birth to their first child a few days ago! They're all doing well and currently camped out at the hospital until Friday. We battled the rain and traffic to visit yesterday. Very cute~ :D I wish them the best!

Man.. I can't believe it's already Wednesday. Time flies by when you're on deadline and coming down to the wire. *_*...
Not sure what's going on with my internet connection - it often stalls out... not sure if it's because of the weather or what. (Today it's kinda wet and rainy... lots of wind last night.)
I've been so busy getting these chapters done, I've been largely AFK - internet-wise. (Even on Twitter! *shame*)
Also, thank you Pat! We just received your gift in the mail yesterday! They were so precious, I had to share it here:

The dolls were custom made by Shinobu of BooCoo Washi Art, located in Canada. The details are simply amazing! (Down to the tiny crests on the groom's coat! Ee!)
In the meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how to preserve the tea canister stickers. I LOVE this style of illustration. *_*! (Can anyone point me to similar artists?)
Anyhoo~~
